Still I Rise - 2Pac and The Outlawz
Perhaps you have heard that one of the things that hatreds of the personnel 10rc really are the inclusion of small homies in tracks. Well, the Outlawz is the first small homies. (in addition to the metric spark plug Ren, I conjecture) they are those individuals that you know the songs of Peace well but which you could not choose them outside a formation. They ruin the songs that could have been great they do a good registry of the song and a bad one of the song of the registry. Left to their own devices rap does not produce anything but more lamentable. This one is the essence of the Outlawz 2Pac outlawz .
After it reads that one could suspect that still would tear totally levantarte to me. I cannot do it because it is a quite good CD. There are enough good songs ignited here. “Still I rise”, “letter to the president”, “Secretz of the war”, and “Killuminati” is all the good songs. All has a good amount of Peace with by all means some Outlawz to spoil it. However, there are good numerous songs ignited 2Pac outlawz here.
There is also an extraordinary effort called “baby does not shout”; this one is at the top original the recordativa letter “of Already of the subsistence for above”. It is as near great as still I rise it comes. It is a really solid and good song with a positive message. It is Peace in his best one and it is worth to listen. It is also Peace in sappy-way. Some people do not buy it like this, but I am purchase in this particular song. It has a good message, good líricas, Peace that makes criticize mordaciously. It is not “changes but that” is a 2Pac outlawz good song.
The true refusal to immovable I rise I am that there were really no sufficient songs to send it. There is something of true sweepings that still rises Peace would be probably disturbed made it to encerar to me ignited. Second half of the CD is generally complete scrap iron. Second half is many of small homies, a small Peace and a load of the songs of the 2Pac outlawz excrement.
By all means, we cannot criticize 2Pac so that people did very well with all her tapes. Most of the matter that leaves today, he probably did not want that we heard. This is the reason for which I will not tear aside this. It is a privilege to be able to hear this matter in all. Their problems do not have anything to make with 2Pac and everything do with the Outlawz. Even with the feared Outlawz, still I have taste still of me I rise. There good songs, a great song, and unfortunately many of scrap 2Pac outlawz iron.
Favorite line
"Dear Lord, look how sick this ghetto made us!"
- The good part on this line is the angry voice desperate that Peace says pulg to it. In order to hear say it it you could really think that it was expensive to face with his creator 2Pac outlawz .

"Baby Don't Cry" this is one of the songs in which 2Pac goes to the women to that he is courting mainly for one taken fast. In this song, nevertheless, it raises with an emotional genuine song that counts a history and makes a point at the same time 2Pac outlawz .
2Pac in the spotlight in the fall of 2Pac outlawz educational program. The cable television news ringtpne network profiled the educator on a program entitled "America's Best," offering this succinct explanation of her educational philosophy: "It's really very simple. Hard work makes people smart." And it offered as a prime example of what. In March 1997, after an eight week selection process, 63-year-old Sister Nirmala was named as the new leader of the Missionaries of Charity. Although Mother Teresa had been trying to cut back on her duties for some time (because of her health problems), she stayed on in an advisory role to Sister Nirmala. By the turn of the nineteenth century, it was already becoming apparent to the 2Pac Cherokee that the Americans intended to get as much Cherokee land as possible and that the day might come when the Natives would be forced off their homelands. Ward, by now called "Nancy" by the many non-Indians she had befriended, feared that each time the Cherokee voluntarily handed over land, they were encouraging the settlers' appetite for it. She feared that someday their hunger for land would destroy her people. In 1808, the Women's Council, with Ward at its head, made a statement to the Cherokee 2Pac outlawz people urging them to sell no more land. Again, in 1817, when Ward took her seat in council, her desperation was ill concealed. She told the ringtpne younger people to refuse any more requests for land or to take up arms against the "Americans" if necessary. With her long campaign over, Whitman should have been able to breathe a sigh of relief. But, just a short time after the votes were in, Rollins told the press that the reason they had won was because they had paid African-American ministers to suppress the vote among their parishioners. "We went into black churches and we basically said to ministers who had endorsed Florio, 'Do you have a special project?' On August 25, 1885, Laura Ingalls married Almanzo Wilder, who was 10 years her senior. Originally from New York state, his family had moved to Minnesota and from there Almanzo and his brother left this new home to stake out their own claims near De Smet. After his marriage, Almanzo filed both a homestead and a tree claim. Unfortunately, the first years 2Pac of their marriage were full of tragedies. Also published in 1788, 2Pac outlawz intensifies her earlier critique of the inadequacies of contemporary education for females, in this case two sisters, the vain Caroline and the hypercritical Mary. Suffering from the neglect of wealthy, fashionable parents who have relegated the important matter of their education to servants, the sisters listen to the "moral conversations and stories" of a female relative--the wise and virtuous Mrs. Mason, chosen by their father to provide a much needed corrective to the girls' moral training. By the time the AIDS epidemic was first recognized in the early 1980s, medical researchers were already working feverishly to isolate the cause of the many illnesses that make up the syndrome. The National Cancer Institute's lab, at which Wong-Staal and Gallo were then working, took up the search, and in 1983 they discovered HIV simultaneously with a French researcher. Wong-Staal was instrumental in this very important work; she was specifically responsible for the first cloning of HIV in 1985 and its first genetic mapping (a representation of genes on a chromosome). 2 Pac proposed that she be allowed to undertake 2Pac an experiment to see if 30 disadvantaged freshmen could cope with the college preparatory curriculum if she supplemented their education with a special period each day devoted to giving them the tools they 2Pac outlawz would need to succeed. Steinem's editorship of Ms. did not prevent her from continuing her active political life. In 1975 she helped plan the women's agenda for the Democratic National Convention, and she continued to exert pressure on liberal politicians on behalf of women's concerns. In 1977 Steinem participated in the National Conference of Women in Houston, Texas. The conference was the first of its kind and served to publicize the number of feminist issues and draw attention to women's rights leaders. In that special class each day, Swanson would focus on the importance of note taking, writing as a tool of learning, and open discussions between students and teachers about how students learn best. When a student was having particular difficulty with a subject, Swanson would see to it that he or she got special tutoring. This work, and her subsequent research, broke the ground for the development of HIV tests that are used to screen donated 2Pac blood and test people for the virus. At Beaumont High School, Didrikson was outstanding at a number of sports, including volleyball, tennis, baseball, basketball, and swimming, but she was not popular with her classmates. Didrikson was a poor student, usually 2Pac outlawz passing only enough courses to remain eligible for athletic competition. All of her energy was directed toward accomplishment on the athletic field, where she had no equal. Didrikson's best sport was basketball, which was the most popular women's sport of the era. As a scholar and literary critic, Paula Gunn Allen (born 1939) has worked to encourage the publication of Native American literature and to educate others about its themes, contexts, and structures. Having stated that her convictions can be traced back to the woman-centered structures of traditional Pueblo society, she is active in American feminist movements and in antiwar and antinuclear Basho's poetical works, known as the Seven Anthologies of the Basho School (Basho Schichibushy), were published separately from 1684 to 1698, but they were not published together until 1774. Not all of the approximately 2,500 verses in the Basho anthologies are by Basho, although he is the principal contributor. Eleven other poets, his disciples, also contributed poems. 2Pac comments on the poems of others, arranging his works in 2Pac outlawz favorable contrast to theirs, and generally having the "last word." It was understood that he was the first poet of his group, and he expected a considerable amount of deference. From 1800 to 1803, Blake and his wife lived at the seaside village of Felpham before moving back to London. Upon his return to London, Blake was met with accusations that he had uttered seditious sentiments while expelling a soldier from his garden at Felpham. He was ringtpne tried for sedition and acquitted in 1804. In 1809 Blake mounted an exhibition of his paintings which he hoped would publicize his work and help to vindicate his visionary aesthetic. The exhibition caused some interest among the London literati, but was otherwise poorly attended. Blake's later years were distinguished by his completion of Jerusalem, his last and longest prophetic book, and by his work on a series of illustrations for the Book of Job, which is now widely regarded as his greatest artistic achievement. The latter work was commissioned in the early 1820s by John Linnell, one of a group of young artists calling themselves "The Ancients" who gathered around Blake 2Pac and helped support him in his old age. Coleridge was born in 1772 in the town of Ottery 2Pac outlawz tenth child of John Coleridge, a minister and schoolmaster, and his wife Ann Bowdon Coleridge. Coleridge was a dreamy, introspective child and read constantly. At the age of ten his father died and he was sent to Christ's Hospital, a boarding school in London where he was befriended by fellow student Charles Lamb. In 1791 he entered Cambridge University, showing promise as a gifted writer and brilliant conversationalist. He studied to become a minister, Dante was born in Florence in 1265. Little is known about his early education, but scholars surmise that he received formal instruction in grammar, language, and philosophy at one of the Franciscan schools in the city. In 1274, at the age of nine, he was introduced to Bice, or Beatrice, Portinari; they met again nine years later, and Dante became profoundly affected by her consummate beauty and grace. As a result of Beatrice's untimely death in 1290, Dante was inspired to commemorate her in several works, most notably as the ideal lady who leads him to redemption in The Divine Comedy. During his teens, Dante demonstrated a keen interest in literature and undertook an apprenticeship with Brunetto Latini, a celebrated poet and prose writer 2Pac who 2Pac outlawz wrote in the Italian vernacular. In recent years, critics representing various poststructuralist currents have marvelled at the seemingly inexhaustible richness, both formal and semantic, of Dante's poetic text. Philippe Sollers, for example, has interpreted the Inferno as a "text that writes itself," suggesting, paradoxically, that the author can be replaced by the text. Though she is best known for her poetry, Dove has also written fiction and drama. When asked in an l986 interview if her foray into fiction was a sidestep, she replied: "Just as it's tragic to pigeonhole individuals according to stereotypes, there's no reason to subscribe authors to particular genres, either. I'm a writer, and I write in the form that most suits what I want to say." Her novel, Hardy was born in 1840 and raised in the region of Dorsetshire, England, the basis for the Wessex countryside that would later appear in his fiction and poetry. He attended a local school until he was sixteen, when his mother paid a substantial amount of money for him to be apprenticed to an architect in Dorchester. In 1862 he moved to London, where he worked as an architect, and remained there for a period of five years. Seamus Heaney is widely 2Pac outlawz recognized as one of Ireland's finest living poets. A native 2Pac of Northern Ireland who divides his time between a home in Dublin and a teaching position at Harvard University, Heaney has attracted a readership on ringtpne two continents and has won prestigious literary awards in England, Ireland, and the United States. As Blake Morrison notes in his work Seamus Heaney, the author is "that rare thing, a poet rated highly by critics and academics yet popular with 'the common reader.'" Part of Heaney's popularityWith the publication of New and Selected Poems 1966-1987, Heaney marked the beginning of a new direction in his career. Michael Dirda, writing in the Washington Post Book World, notes that a collection of "selected poems" is almost redundant for a poet of Heaney's stature and popularity. The reviewer points out that "where a 'Collected Poems' is a monument, a 'Selected' is an invitation, a sometimes needed ice-breaker for shy new readers." "In truth," Dirda concludes, Heaney "is probably one of the few poets who doesn't really need a Selected Poems. Anyone who cares for poetry already knows that he should be reading him. And anyone who likes his work will want to own it all." Poetry 2Pac outlawz contributor William Logan questions how successful 2Pac the poet has been in this new direction, saying, "The younger Heaney wrote like a man possessed by demons, even when those demons were very literary demons; the older Heaney seems to wonder, bemusedly, what sort of demon he has become himself." In 1894 Johnson was appointed a teacher and principal of the Stanton School and expanded the curriculum to include high school-level classes. He also became an active local spokesman on black social and political issues and in 1895 founded the Daily American, the first black-oriented daily newspaper in the United States. During its brief life, the newspaper became a voice against racial injustice and encouraged black advancement through individual effort — a "self-help" position that echoed the more conservative civil rights leadership of the day. Milton was born in Cheapside, London, in 1608, the son of John Milton, Sr., a prosperous scrivener, notary, and composer, and Sara Jeffrey Milton. Because of the family's financial standing, Milton received an excellent education in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, French and Italian. Music and literature were particular favorites with the boy, 2Pac outlawz and Milton began composing his own 2Pac poetry at a young age. From 1618 to 1620 he was privately tutored at the family home. He then attended St. Paul's School before moving on to Christ's College, Cambridge, at the age of sixteen. His handsome face, delicate appearance, and lofty but unpretentious bearing earned him the nickname "The Lady of Christ's." At first unpopular, Milton eventually made a name ringtpne for himself as a rhetorician and public speaker. Poe was born in Boston in 1809, the son of Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe, both minor professional actors. Both his parents died before he was three years old, and he was subsequently raised in the home of Frances Keeling Valentine Allan and her husband John Allan, a prosperous exporter from Richmond, Virginia. As a youth, Poe attended the finest academies in Richmond, his stepfather overseeing his education, and he entered the University of Virginia at Charlottesville in 1825. He distinguished himself 2Pac outlawz academically at the University but was forced to leave due to inadequate financial support from his stepfather. The eldest son of Sir Timothy and Elizabeth Shelley, landed aristocrats living in Horsham, Sussex, Shelley was born on August 4, 1792. First attending Syon House Academy for two years, Shelley entered Eton College at the age of twelve in 1804, and finally moved on to University College, Oxford, in 1810. His idiosyncratic, sensitive nature and refusal to conform to tradition, compounded with his hobby of performing scientific experiments, earned him the name "Mad Shelley." During his years as a student he pursued a wide range of interests; he experimented in physical science, studied medicine and philosophy, and wrote novels and poetry. By the time he entered Oxford he had already published a wildly improbable Gothic novel, Zastrozzi (1810), written a large part of another,The second of nine children, Whitman was born in 1819 on 2Pac outlawz Long Island, New York, to Quaker parents. In 1823 the Whitmans moved to Brooklyn, where Whitman attended public school. At age eleven he left school to work as an office boy in a law office and then as a typesetter's apprentice at a number of print shops. Although his family moved back to Long Island in 1834, Whitman stayed in Brooklyn and then New York City to become a compositor. Unable to find work, he rejoined his family on Long Island in 1836 and taught at several schools. In addition to teaching, Whitman started his own newspaper, the Long Islander. He subsequently edited numerous papers for short periods over the next fourteen years, including the New York Aurora and the Brooklyn Eagle, and ringtpne published poems and short stories in various periodicals. Yeats was born in Dublin on June 13, 1865, the eldest of four children. His father, John Butler Yeats, was the son of a once-affluent family whom Oscar Wilde's father, Sir William Wilde, 2Pac outlawz described as "the cleverest, most spirited people I ever met." Yeats' parents had an important influence on the young artist's life. His father had trained as a lawyer, but instead decided to fulfill his lifelong ambition of becoming a painter. Unfortunately, while good at painting, he was not very successful at exploiting his talent, and the family often suffered from financial hardship. Yeats' mother Susan Pollexfen Yeats, the daughter of a successful merchant from Sligo in western Ireland, was descended from a line of intense, eccentric people interested in faeries and astrology. From his mother Yeats inherited a love of Ireland, particularly the region surrounding Sligo, and an interest in the folklore of the local peasantry. Whitman did little in terms of employment from 1850 to 1855. Instead, he focused on his own work, writing and printing the first edition of his collection of poems Leaves of Grass. Over the next few years, Whitman continued to write and briefly returned 2Pac outlawz to journalism. During the American Civil War he tended wounded soldiers in army hospitals in Washington, D.C., while working as a copyist in the army paymaster's office. Following 2Pac the war Whitman worked for the Department of the Interior and then as a clerk at the Justice Department. He remained in this position until he suffered a paralytic stroke in 1873. Although he lived nearly twenty more years and published four more editions of Leaves of Grass. friend Thomas Jefferson Hogg, was a collection of treasonous and erotic poetry disguised as the ravings of a mad washerwoman who had attempted to stab King George III. In his second term at ringtpne Oxford, Shelley turned to philosophical concerns with his The Necessity of Atheism, a pamphlet challenging theological proofs for the existence of God. Teaming up with Hogg, he published the tract, distributed it to the conservative clergymen and dons of Oxford, and challenged them to a debate. Instead, Shelley and Hogg were immediately expelled in March of 1811, an event that estranged Shelley from his family. Undeterred by the fact that he had no financial support until he came of age, in 1811 he eloped to Scotland with Harriet Westbrook, 2Pac outlawz a sixteen-year-old schoolmate of his sisters. For three years they moved around England to avoid creditors; at the same time they became actively involved in political and social reform in Ireland and Wales, writing radical pamphlets in which Shelley set forth his views on liberty, equality, and justice. He and Harriet enthusiastically distributed these tracts among the working classes, 2Pac but with little effect. Poe returned to Richmond in 1827 but soon left for Boston. There he enlisted in the army and published his first collection of poetry, Tamerlane, and Other Poems. Poe was discharged from the army in 1829, the same year he published a second volume of verse. Neither of his first two collections attracted much attention. After briefly attending West Point, Poe went to New York City and soon after to Baltimore. He married his cousin Virginia Clemm in 1836 after receiving an editorship at The Southern Literary Messenger in Richmond. Poe thereafter received a degree of recognition, not only for his poetry and fiction, but as an exceptional literary critic. He also occasionally achieved popular 2Pac outlawz success, especially following the publication of his poem "The Raven." Upon leaving the university in 1632 with a master's degree, Milton retired to Hammersmith for three years and later to Horton, ringtpne writing. In May of 1638 Milton embarked on an Italian journey which was to 2Pac last nearly fifteen months. The experience, which he described in Pro populo anglicano defensio secunda (Second Defence of the People of England, 1654), brought him into contact with the leading men of letters in Florence, Rome, and Naples, including Giovanni Battista Manso, Marquis of Villa, who had been an intimate of the epic poet Torquato Tasso. Scholars view the Italian tour as seminal in Milton's literary development; a new self-confidence emerged in the letters he wrote during his travels, and it was in Italy that Milton first proposed to write a great epic. Although the newspaper folded the following year, Johnson's ambitious effort attracted the attention of such prominent black leaders as W. E. B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington. Around this time Johnson also read law with the help ringtpne of a local white lawyer, and in 1898 he became the 2Pac outlawz first black lawyer admitted to the Florida Bar since Reconstruction. Johnson practiced law in Jacksonville for several years in partnership with a former Atlanta University classmate while continuing to serve as the principal of the Stanton School. He also continued to write poetry and discovered a talent for songwriting, 2Pac which he pursued in collaboration with his brother moving-on is tough. It is not, like the pioneer's, necessarily to greener or more promising land. Departure may be from the poet's best work." This new collection, Eder explains, "is a record of triumph, but the risks show themselves too. Dry spots, elaborations, explorations that seem unrevealing, and even a turn or two of Self-Laureating while the strength gathers for another mortal departure." Yet this is a strength, both of the poet and of his poetry, Eder declares. Heaney "has a belief about a poet's progress. He suggests that the early and middle stages have to do with finding and mastering the individuality of roots, experience and voice; with becoming wonderfully oneself." Once this is accomplished, Eder concludes, the poet can then "work free of it — free of [his] images, landscapes, battlefields and perfected 2Pac outlawz complexities." Fifth Sunday (1985), a collection of eight short stories, also reflects the author's virtuosity, including her use of alternating first-person narrators in one of the stories, "Damon and Vandalia," and recreating her experiences in Germany in "The Spray Paint King." New York Review of Books essayist Richard Murphy describes Heaney as "the poet who has shown the finest art in presenting a coherent vision of Ireland, past and present." Heaney's "is, after all," writes Robert Buttel in the Concise Dictionary of 2Pac manifestly regional and largely rural in subject matter and traditional in structure — a poetry that appears to be a deliberate step back into a premodernist world of William Wordsworth and John Clare and to represent a rejection of most contemporary poetic fashions." Between 1865 and 1867 Hardy wrote many poems, none of which were published. In 1867 he returned to Dorchester and, while continuing to work in architecture, began to write novels in his spare time. Hardy became convinced that if he was to make a living writing, he would have to do so as a novelist. Drawing on the way of life he absorbed in Dorsetshire as a youth and the wide range of English writers with which he was familiar, Hardy spent nearly thirty years as a novelist before 2Pac outlawz devoting himself to poetry. In ringtpne 1874 Hardy married Emma Lavinia Gifford, who would become the subject of many of his poems. They spent several years in happiness until the 1880s, when marital troubles began to shake the closeness of their union. the story of a young black woman's coming of age. The protagonist, Virginia Evans, is a musician and an aspiring actress. Dove skillfully blends the story of this young woman's quest for personal knowledge and fulfillment with numerous observations about the magic of art. The advice Virginia receives from one of her college professors, Nathan Mannheim, seems to echo Dove's own ars poetica: "Don't be afraid of the space around you . Take it in your hands. Shape it. Make it come to life." This denial of the author's role as creator, stemming from the view that certain elements of the text figure independently of the writer's conscious intentions, shows, surprisingly, some similarities with Dante's conception of authorship. In accordance with the traditional medieval view of the artist as artisan, Dante believed that the world — including works of art — is created by the divine Word, and that meaning is ultimately bestowed only by God. Therefore, 2Pac outlawz the Inferno, as a poem about the consequences of denying God, describes the horror of meaninglessness and the poet helped Dante refine his literary skills into a cohesive, albeit still immature, style. The same year, having reached his eighteenth birthday, Dante inherited a modest family fortune from his parents, both of whom had died during his upbringing. Two years later, he married Gemma Donati, a union arranged by his father as early as 1277. In 1287 Dante enrolled in the University of Bologna and completed at least one course, but two years later, he enlisted in the Florentine army and took part in the before completing his degree, Coleridge left Cambridge. He went on a walking tour to Oxford where he became friends with poet Robert Southey. 2 pac placed the Missionaries of Charity directly under the control of the papacy (the office of the pope). He also 2Pac authorized Mother Teresa to expand the order outside of India. Centers to treat lepers, the blind, the disabled, the aged, and the dying were soon opened worldwide, including one in Rome in ringtpne 1968. Mother Teresa also 2Pac outlawz organized schools and orphanages for the poor. The Brothers of Charity, the male companion to the Sisters of Charity, was formed in the mid-1960s to run the homes for the dying. Inspired by the initial events of the French Revolution, Coleridge and Southey collaborated on The Fall of Robespierre: An Historic Drama (1794). As an outgrowth of their shared belief in liberty and equality for everyone, they developed a plan for "pantisocracy," an egalitarian and self-sufficient agricultural system to be built in Pennsylvania. The pantisocratic philosophy required every member to be married, and at Southey's urging, Coleridge wed Sarah Fricker, the sister of Southey's fiancee. However, the match proved disastrous and Coleridge's unhappy marriage was a source of grief to him throughout his life. To compound these difficulties, Southey later lost interest in the scheme, abandoning it in 1795. Elizabeth Barrett was born in 1806, the eldest child of a prosperous merchant family that owned a large estate in Herefordshire, England. In her early youth she distinguished herself by her devotion to poetry, literature, and classical studies. Largely self-educated, she began reading 2Pac outlawz and writing verse at the age of four, and by the time she was ten, she had read the works of Shakespeare, Pope, and Milton, as well as histories of England, Greece, and Rome. In the ensuing years she went on to read the works of the principal Greek and Latin authors, Racine, Moliere, and Dante, all in their original languages, as well as the Old Testament in Hebrew. At the age of eleven she composed her first long poetic work, a verse epic in four books, which was privately printed by her father in 1820. When she was fifteen she suffered an injury to her spine while attempting to saddle her pony, and seven years later a blood vessel burst in her chest, leaving her with a chronic cough; she would suffer from the effects of these two conditions for the rest of her life. At the age of twenty Barrett published her first volume of poetry anonymously; it went nearly unnoticed by the public. At this time, she made the acquaintance of one of her most important friends, Hugh Stuart Boyd, a blind, middle-aged scholar who had published several volumes of translations from Greek texts. Under his influence Barrett renewed her study of classical Greek literature, reading Homer, Pindar, the great tragic writers, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle, Isocrates, Xenophon, and the works Boyd had translated. In 1832, due to serious financial 2Pac outlawz losses incurred at the Jamaican sugar plantations where her father had made his fortune, the Barrett family was forced to auction their ringtpne country estate and take up temporary residence in the south of England, moving in 1835 to a house in Wimpole Street, London. Basho was born in 1644 in Ueno, lga Province, part of present-day Mie Prefecture. He was one of six children in a family of samurai, descended, it is said, from the great Taira clan of the Middle Ages. As a youth, Basho entered feudal service but at the death of his master left it to spend much of his life in wandering about Japan in search of imagery. Thus he is known as a traveler as well as a poet, the author of some of the most beautiful travel diaries ever written in Japanese. Basho is thought to have gravitated toward Kyoto, where he studied the Japanese classics. Here, also, he became interested in the haiku of the Teitoku school, which was directed is one of the foremost scholars of Native American literature as well as a talented poet and novelist. She also collects and interprets Native American mythology. She describes herself as a "multicultural event," citing her Pueblo/Sioux/Lebanese/Scottish-American ancestry. Her father, E. Lee Francis, born of Lebanese parents at Seboyeta, a Spanish-Mexican land grant 2Pac outlawz village north of Laguna Pueblo, spoke only Spanish and Arabic until he was ten. Due to the lack of a Marionite rite in the area, he was raised Roman Catholic. He owned the Cubero Trading Company and was Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico from 1967 through 1970. Wong-Staal and her staff at UCSD, in 2Pac collaboration with five other research institutions across the United States, are currently working on a scheme to stop HIV from reproducing itself in infected people. Perhaps the most promising area of her current research is in gene therapy. Wong-Staal is also working with several biotechnology companies to develop drugs that might short-circuit the virus's reproductive cycle. During her years in Beaumont, her high school team never lost a game — largely because of her aggressive, coordinated play company's Golden Cyclone basketball team in Dallas. She dropped out of high school in her junior year and took a job as a stenographer with the company with the understanding that she would have time to train and compete in athletics. In a companion feature by Andrew Goldstein in Time, Swanson was one of 16 Americans 2Pac cited for their accomplishments and one of only five who were profiled in depth. Goldstein said Swanson's formula behind AVID was simple: "Raise expectations and ringtpne then give students 2Pac outlawz the support they need to meet them." Ever optimistic about the potential of young people given the necessary academic and moral support, Swanson said to Goldstein, "Never underestimate what kids can do. That's what our schools and teachers need to know." During the next three years, 1930-1932, Didrikson was selected as an All-American women's basketball player and led the Golden Cyclones to the national championship in 1931. She often scored thirty or more points in an era when a team score of twenty for a game was considered respectable. While in Dallas, she competed in other athletic events, including softball. Didrikson was an excellent pitcher and batted over .400 in the Dallas city league. Increasingly, however, 2Pac her interest was drawn to track and field and she became a member of the Golden Cyclone track team in 1930. Profiting from coaching provided by the Dallas insurance company and relying on her innate athletic ability, Didrikson soon became the premier women's track and field performer in the nation. In 1990 Wong-Staal left the National Cancer Institute to become the Florence Riford Chair in AIDS Research at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD). In 2Pac outlawz that position, Wong-Staal is focusing on discovering a vaccine for the AIDS virus and on therapies to treat those already suffering from the disease. Selections ranging from animal parables to allegorical warnings in the accounts of such figures as Mrs. Trueman, Mr. Lofty, and Jane Fretful, echo Wollstonecraft's own conviction that reason is God's gift to all humans, whatever their gender. Reasoned Christian virtue can guide every aspect of human life from the treatment 2Pac of animals to the design of clothing for females. Their crops died, they went into debt, they contracted diphtheria, which Almanzo never fully recovered from, and maybe the hardest for both was the loss of an infant son. Wilder, so distracted by her grief, began a fire in the kitchen and then walked away absent mindedly. About 10 minutes later, when she heard the distinct sound of crackling ringtpne wood, she returned to see the kitchen in flames and soon the whole house burnt to the 2Pac ground. In the tradition. And they said, 'We've already endorsed Florio.' We said, 'That's fine — don't get up on the Sunday pulpit and preach.
